Mirah Investment & Development is excited to announce the groundbreaking of the highly anticipated FINNS Bali Resort, located in the heart of Berawa, Canggu, in Bali. The official commencement of construction for this iconic project was marked by a traditional Balinese Mecaru Ceremony.
The groundbreaking event and ceremony were held on the 17th of August, 2024, adjacent to the FINNS Recreation Club and the future site of FINNS Bali Resort. The ceremony was attended by the teams from Mirah Investment & Development and FINNS Bali, the collaborators for this project, bringing together two titans of Bali’s hospitality industry to elevate the island’s hospitality offerings.

The Mecaru Ceremony, an essential part of Balinese culture, is a purification ritual designed to seek blessings and ensure a harmonious and balanced development process. The ceremony involved offering and prayers led by a priest, signifying the project’s blessing and alignment with local traditions.
The laying of the first stone, a key part of the Mecaru Ceremony, was performed by Paul Hussey, Chief Operating Officer of FINNS Bali, and Scott Matson, Chief Operating Officer of Mirah Investment & Development. Both executives, along with Head of Hotel Development for Mirah, Stewart Morris, addressed the attendees, sharing their excitement for the future of this landmark project.
